“Get down and Boogie” Christmas Party

Event Date: Friday 9th December 2016

The brief for this Melbourne roof top Christmas party was to have everyone on the dance floor – seventies style. Guests were set to ‘get down and boogie’. Drawing from the party era of the 70’s, we designed and created two distinct spaces at Tonic House for this very vibrant end of year event. Firstly, the roof top was a very vibrant, with jungle inspired prints and large tropical floral arrangements setting the scene for a laid back 70’s soiree. The furniture on the roof top consisted of mainly white high bars and stools with some feature Peacock chairs for a pop of fun.
Downstairs in the ‘cellar’ was the underground club, dark and mysterious with a psychedelic twist complete with its own dance floor and lounge area. The space featured velvet textures, peacock colour tones accented with some mesmerising lava lamps. Of course what 70’s club is complete without a few mirror balls! Empire Red also designed and installed the lighting which played a large role in creating the ambiance in this space.
As it isn’t a typical function space, Tonic House presents a few challenges especially with so much equipment to move in and out of the venue alongside catering and other requirements. Empire Red is always up to the challenge though, we love working in unique spaces and transforming them in to a memorable event experience for guests.
